Ace comedian Julius Agwu has shed some light on the ongoing feud between his colleagues AY Makun and Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth. According to Agwu, there might be more to the story than what has been made public.
It can be recalled that AY Makun recently disclosed in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that he and Basketmouth have not been on speaking terms over a certain N30,000 fee he asked for when he performed on Basketmouth’s behalf sometime in the past.
However, in a recent interview with Naija Info FM, Julius Agwu suggested that there may be underlying factors contributing to the disagreement. He also shared his personal experience with AY Makun, claiming that he called him after learning that AY was planning a show on the same day he usually hosts his comedy show. Agwu claims that AY hung up on him during their conversation.
Agwu stated, ‘’I don’t think it’s just the N30,000. Maybe there is more. We are all colleagues in the same industry, and we often work together. We can’t know everything that’s going on backstage, so maybe there’s something else that is making them angry and they have both carried in their minds that is causing this quarrel.”
It remains to be seen whether AY Makun and Basketmouth will resolve their differences, but it is clear that Julius Agwu believes that there may be more to the story than what has been shared with the public so far.
