Jimi Agbaje has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket for the third time in a row as he defeated Deji Doherty in the primary election conducted today,
Jimi Agbaje polled 1,100 votes as against Doherty’s 742 votes.
In reacting to Jimi Agbaje’s emergence, Deji Doherty said ” He’s a brother and grind and confidant, It’s all in the interest of our party and the people of Lagos state. We are resolute that in 2019 Agbaje will become governor.”
While reacting to his vctory, Agbaje says he is confident that the PDP will win the 2019 election in Lagos.
He said “We have confident that we are going to win. There’s a disease in Lagos, and in the months ahead we will free Lagos from this disease.”
Jimi Agbaje whose main contender is the APC governorship aspirant, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has contested twice for Lagos state governor under the PDP.
