This denial comes in response to a statement made by Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, on his Twitter handle, announcing Alake’s alleged appointment.

Alake, speaking to journalists, categorically stated that the news of his appointment was false.

“It was fake news. I’m always surprised when news people failed to recognize fake unsigned stories,” Alake said.

Dele Alake is no stranger to the political landscape, having served as the commissioner for information and strategy in Lagos from 1999 to 2007 during Tinubu’s tenure as the governor of the state.

In 2014, he made a return to national politics after a brief hiatus from public roles when he was appointed as the Director of Media and Communication for the Buhari campaign organization.

Prior to his foray into politics, Alake had an illustrious career in journalism. He began his journey with Concord Press publishers as a writer and editor.

After a year, he assumed the role of a columnist in the National Concord, where he served until 1989. In that same year, he was appointed as the editor of Sunday Concord, a position he held until 1995, before taking up the mantle as the editor of the National Concord.
