Iran’s Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, Masoumeh Ebtekar, has been tested positive for the coronavirus.
Ebtekar’s adviser, Fariba Ibtihaj, said the vice president tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Everyone in the vice president’s team has also been tested and the results will be available on Saturday.
On Tuesday, Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi and another lawmaker, Mahmoud Sadeghi, tested positive for the coronavirus.
The country has recorded 245 cases on Thursday and 26 deaths have been confirmed.
