The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that supplementary elections will take place in certain states and legislative districts in Nigeria on April 15th, 2023.
This was disclosed in a statement on INEC’s Twitter Page on Monday.
The Governorship and Legislative elections, which have already been conducted in most parts of the country, were declared inconclusive in some areas.
The electoral commission stated that the supplementary elections will take place in Kebbi and Adamawa states, where the Governorship elections were declared inconclusive. The supplementary elections will be conducted in some polling units in both states.
In addition, INEC has decided to hold supplementary polls for both national and state assembly elections on the same day
“Arising from its meeting held today, the Independent National Electoral Commission has decided that all outstanding Governorship, National, and State Assembly supplementary elections will take place on Saturday 15th April 2023,” the statement reads.
