The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Abba Kabir Yusuf the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP governorship candidate, the winner of the governorship election in Kano State.
The declaration was made in the early hours of Monday amid growing tension in the state.
According to the results declared by the Returning Office, Professor Ahmed Ibrahim polled 1,019,602 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 890,705 votes.
