The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun uploading the election results for the Presidential and National Assembly polls held on Saturday onto its results viewing portal.

This comes after concerns were raised by some Nigerians about the Commission failing to fulfill its promise to upload the results of the elections in different polling units across the country as they were sorted, counted, and collated.

On November 22, 2022, INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmoud, had stated that the Commission would upload the results of the 2023 general elections on its portal, allowing Nigerians to have real-time access to the results as they were being collated. However, the Commission failed to upload the results even after several hours of completion of the polls in most of the polling units in the country.

In a recent development, INEC has started uploading results from some of the polling units across the country. As of the time of writing, a total of 1830 results out of 176846 have been uploaded onto the portal.
