The President, Mohammadu Buhari says the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello disobeyed him.
The president made this revelation on Thursday at the commissioning of some legacy projects in Kogi State
Buhari said he had attempted to stop governors and ministers from naming projects after him, but Bello went ahead and named Muhammadu Buhari Square and the Civic Centre after him.
Buhari commissioned a new Confluence University of Science and Technology at Osara, Reference Hospital at Okene, and township road networks in Idah, Okene and across the three senatorial districts.
Other projects include Ganaja Flyover, Model Science Secondary School, Muhammadu Buhari Square and Civic Centre in Lokoja.
“I thank the Governor and the people of Kogi state for naming it (Muhammadu Buhari Square and Civic Centre) after me. Here, I have to digress; I attempted to stop governors and ministers from naming projects after me, but the Governor disobeyed me here”, Buhari stated.
Before the president arrived in the state, it was reported that a bomb explosion in Kogi State had killed three people.
The bomb exploded in the Okene area of the state on Thursday morning.
It was learned that the incident occurred in Oyinoyi’s Palace in the Okenne Local Government Area of the state.
