Renowned Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule, better known by his stage name Blaqbonez, has recently opened up about the pivotal role superstar singer Asake played in shaping his music career.
In an exclusive interview with Reality star Kimoprah on the popular Hip TV program, Trending, Blaqbonez disclosed that Asake had been instrumental in his journey to stardom, offering invaluable assistance in the studio with background vocals.
Recalling their early days at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ife, Osun State, Blaqbonez shared that he had established friendships with several talented artists, including Fireboy, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, Zamorra, and Asake.
Regarding Asake’s specific contribution, Blaqbonez highlighted his exceptional talent for backing vocals and how he had mastered this skill long before achieving recognition in the music industry
In Blaqbonez’s words, “I have known Fireboy, Asake, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, and Zamorra since OAU days.
“Zamorra and Asake have always been great at backups. You know this thing Asake does now with his vocals, he has understood this thing from time.
“So, I used to ask him to help me figure out these things. They’ve always been influential in my music journey because I feel like every phase of BlaqBonez helped build the BlaqBonez that I am now.”
