Chief Muritala Akogun, a traditional ruler in Abule-Ado, Amuwo-Odofin LGA in Lagos state has been killed while trying to prevent the hoodlums from causing chaos in his community.
The traditional ruler died on Monday, September 30, from the injury he suffered from the attack on September 28, after he was rushed to a hospital.
According to an eyewitness,the late traditional ruler who was recently installed as the Akogun of Ado kingdom reportedly attempted to prevent some hoodlums who invaded the community from wreaking havoc before he was attacked.
The hoodlums had allegedly stormed the community to avenge the beating of their colleague by some residents of the community who caught him stealing a television set from some razed shacks in the community.
The shacks were reportedly razed on Friday, September 27 and the affected owners were trying to pack their property when some hoodlums hijacked the situation and stole some of the property.
Another victim of the attack identified as Prince Fasiu, who ia also a resident was severely injured and is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Some arrests have been reportedly made and the suspects transferred from Trade Fair Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos Mainland.
