Arnold Spielberg, the father of Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, has passed away at the age of 103.
News of his passing was announced by The Hollywood Reporter on August 25, 2020, disclosing that the computer designer died of natural causes.
Arnold leaves behind his four children (Steven, Anne, Sue, and Nancy), as well as four stepchildren, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Speaking on his death, his children said in a collective statement that their father taught them to love research, expand their minds, and “keep their feet on the ground but reach for the stars.”
Arnold Spielberg’s time in the army inspired his son Steven Spielberg to direct the movie Saving Private Ryan.
A celebration of Arnold’s life has been tentatively set for fall 2021.
