The spouse of former yoga instructor Hilaria Baldwin, Alec Baldwin, is expected to face official charges for his involvement in the shooting death of Halyna Hutchins. This news has been a trying time for Hilaria and her family, and she expressed her gratitude for the support she has received.
On her new podcast, “Witches Anonymous,” she opened up about how their family would not have been able to endure without the kindness and understanding of others.
“It’s been an emotional time for my family and I do so want to express to you how grateful I am for your support and your kindness and your reason,” she shared.
“Quite honestly, I think without it, we would crumble, so thank you so much for being our rock right now because I don’t feel so strong.”
Despite the charges, Alec has maintained his innocence and an attorney for the actor stated that the charges against him are a “terrible miscarriage of justice.” The attorney, Luke Nikas of the Quinn Emanuel law firm, stated that Baldwin had no reason to believe there were live rounds on the set and that he relied on the professionals working with him.
Alec and the on-set armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, face a maximum sentence of 18 months in jail, as well as an enhancement for the use of a firearm, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years. The shooting occurred on the set of “Rust” in October 2021 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the “Motherless Brooklyn” actor shot and killed Hutchins while preparing for a scene.
“On a human level, you guys know I’m not going to say anything to you. You know that. So please leave my family in peace and let this all play out. OK?” 39-year-old Hilaria, with her newborn strapped to her chest, told the gathered journalists.
Earlier this month, Hilaria spoke out against reporters who had been tailing her family, asking them to leave her and her seven children in peace while they navigate this difficult time.
