Honourable Musa Muhammed Adamu Fagengawo, the member representing Babura/Garki federal constituency in Jigawa state, has resigned from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). The governor of Jigawa state’s Special Adviser on Affrostration, Honorable Bala Sule Kila, has also defected from the APC to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Honourable Musa Muhammed made this disclosure in a letter he personally signed and sent to the APC chairman of the Kore ward in Garki local government area. In the letter, he stated that his decision to resign from the APC was due to conflicts happening at all levels of the party.
After announcing his resignation from the APC, Honourable Musa Muhammed also revealed that he has defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He made this announcement at the residence of the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Dutse, the state capital.
According to Honourable Musa Muhammed, his decision to defect to the PDP followed consultations with constituents and a plan to leave the ruling APC. He also stated that he has joined forces with the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido, to ensure the victory of the PDP in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
Similarly, the governor of Jigawa state’s Special Adviser on Affrostration, Honorable Bala Sule Kila, has resigned from his position and defected to the PDP. In a letter addressed to the governor of Jigawa state, he stated his intention to resign from his position as Special Adviser.
The APC has recently lost high-profile politicians in the state to the major opposition political party, the PDP.
