During the Agege Day celebration, Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and the Speaker of the State, Mudashiru Obasa, urged Nigerians, especially Lagosians, to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February election.
They declared Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the best presidential candidate and asked voters to use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to elect APC candidates to enjoy more dividends of democracy. The event saw the launch of the N500,000,000 Agege Education Endowment Fund, which the First Lady of Lagos, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, commissioned.
Hamzat said that the development in Agege would surprise anyone who hasn’t visited in the last five years. Obasa described Tinubu as the most competent presidential candidate and noted his achievements in infrastructural development, employment, and human capital management and development during his tenure as Governor.
Obasa encouraged people to vote for Tinubu, based on his achievements, and commended the Agege council chairmen, Ganiyu Egunjobi and Johnson Babatunde, for their efforts to improve their communities. He also encouraged well-meaning individuals across Lagos to contribute to the Agege Education Endowment Fund, which will equip beneficiaries and support them through higher institutions.
The Chairman of the Organization Committee of Agege Day, Afolabi Ayantayo, said that the fund would mitigate shortfalls in educational infrastructure and other related areas, and help students whose parents could not afford their tuition to study overseas.
