Government Officials Get Foreign Trip Restrictions From FG
President Buhari

The Federal Government has approved travel restrictions on some of its officials in a bid to stop leakages and ensure efficiency in the management of its resources.

The directive was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari with Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen of Extra-Ministerial Departments, Chief Executive Officers, and Directors restricted to not more than two foreign trips in a quarter. These travels would be essential engagements that would benefit the country.

In an announcement made on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, it was stressed that the above-named officials could only go on more than two foreign trips with the President’s say so.

Subsequently, all Ministers, Departments, and Agencies have been told to submit their annual travel plans to the Office of the Federation and or the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation for clearance purposes within the first quarter of the fiscal year.
