Gareth Bale’s super agent, Jonathan Barnett has revealed that Real Madrid are in negotiations with Tottenham over a move for his client.
Bale originally left Tottenham for La Liga in 2013, and has won four Champions League titles during his time in Spain, scored 105 goals in 251 matches at Real Madrid and won two La Liga titles.
In the 2012-13 season, Bale broke out as a Superstar after he scored 26 goals, including 21 in the Premier League landing the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year that season and the FWA Footballer of the Year Awards to join Cristiano Ronaldo as the only other player to win all three awards in the same season.
However, the 31-year-old has fallen out of favour with Madrid Head coach, Zinedine Zidane and has been heavily linked with a departure this summer. Manchester United and Tottenham have been said to be interested but Bale’s agent confirmed that a return to Spurs is Bale’s preferred destination. Barnett told BBC Sport Wales:
“Gareth still loves Spurs”
“We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale’s camp]. It’s where he wants to be.”
