The 2020 Ondo governorship election will be another battle between Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP and Governor Akeredolu as Jegede clinched the PDP ticket in the primary election conducted on Wednesday. The PDP candidate had contested for the governorship seat in the 2016 election but lost to the incumbent governor, Akeredolu.
The People’s Democratic Party has successfully conducted its governorship primary election and Eyitayo Jegede(SAN) emerges as the winner. Jegede defeated seven other aspirants, including Agboola Ajayi, the embattled deputy governor of Ondo state who recently dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress to fight for the PDP’s ticket.
Jegede will be slugging it out with Governor Akeredolu who had also clinched the APC ticket to contest the October 10 election. His victory was announced and celebrated on the PDP official page on twitter, see below.
