54-year-old Antonio Saca ,El Salvador’s former president has been sentenced to two years imprisonment after been found guilty of bribery.
According to UK Reuters, Antonio,, who is already serving a 10-year prison sentence for misuse of public funds and money laundering was said to have attempted bribing a court employee with 10,000 dollars to obtain information about a case against him.
Attorney general’s office had tweeted’ Saca, who served as president from 2004 to 2009, “confessed to having committed the crimes attributed to him.
He pleaded guilty in both cases as he sought to reduce his prison term.The anti-corruption prosecutor told journalists outside court that a judge has yet to decide whether the two years will be added to his existing sentence.
