James Situma, Ex-Harambee Stars defender and former Kenyan international, returns to school weeks after his retirement from active football.
The former Kenya Premier League defender and president of Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) who had announced his retirement earlier this year is said to have enrolled for a Business Administration course at Zetech University.
Situma, is understood to have attended the mandatory orientation on Thursday, September 19. Upon completion of the business course, Situma will afterwards undertake a course in Sports Management.
According to Daily Nation the Kenyan Star believes the course is relevant to his line of work to empower him to run the affairs of the KEFWA association.
Situma had said he was proud to join Zetech and pursue a two year certificate in Business Administration as a foundation programme then later take a three year Diploma in Sports Management.
“I believe this is the right time as I am not actively playing and leading an organisation like KEFWA needs enhanced expertise to take it to the next level” he said.
He added that sports men and women need to invest in education to better manage their careers.
