MTV Hosts 2022 Music Video Awards

Many stars dressed in dark hues to match this year's "black carpet" -- though they brought outfits to life with fetishwear-inspired accessories, such as singer Dove Cameron's thick leather choker, or flashes of color, like Sabrina Carpenter's rainbow embellishments.

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards was held on the 28th of August at  with stars including Lizzo and Blackpink stepping out onto the red carpet for the big night.

The red carpet saw everyone from Dove Cameron to Måneskin to Chloe Bailey to Anitta to Lizzo rocking eye-popping looks.

Many stars dressed in dark hues to match this year’s “black carpet” — though they brought outfits to life with fetishwear-inspired accessories, such as singer Dove Cameron’s thick leather choker, or flashes of color, like Sabrina Carpenter’s rainbow embellishments.

The 2022 see hip-hop icon receiving the Video Vanguard Award, in addition to anchoring the show alongside LL Cool J and Harlow. Red Hot Chili Peppers are the 2022 VMAs Global Icon Award recipients.

Minaj, Harlow, and RHCP will perform at the 2022 VMAs ceremony, as well as a huge roster of cross-genre artists: Anitta, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Blackpink, Kane Brown, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Marshmello and Khalid, Lizzo, Måneskin, and Panic! at the Disco.

Doja Cat, Harlow, and Harry Styles are this year’s top nominees, with eight nods each. Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Nas X have seven nods each, with scoring six nods. BTS, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Future, Lizzo, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd all have five nominations each.
