You were formerly known as Breezie, what is the reason for rebranding to Gida Hills?

Gida is more than just a stage name it encompasses alot of things i’m into as Gida is an Hausa word that means house. For an all rounder like me, i felt i needed a name that will cut across and moreover there are lot of ‘Breezies’ out there but i’m the only GIDA HILLS on the planet. It’s a brand that is different and cool like that

You recently dropped two singles “Bariga” and “Super Blessing”, what has been the response so far?

The response has been massive, totally unbelievable, ’cause i wasnt even planning to release the songs as at then. It was a friend who convinced me to release them and it was like magic.. BARIGA and SUPER BLESSING got everywhere trended on twitter the very moment they were dropped. Big shout-out to my team and everybody who downloaded shared and the songs God bless you all .i dont have fans i’ve got family and y’all my family

How do you describe your kind of music?

My music is a melodious expression of how i’m feeling, what I’m seeing or a story I want to talk about…you might pop or afro pop or afro hiphop but i call it Street pop and that’s what it is

Where do you draw your inspiration?

I draw inspiration from everything, experiences, movies, music as long as i can use it to connect to my people..

What are you working on currently?

Right now i’m working on my EP, GHETTO STORIES and also hoping to put some visuals out there ’cause the demand for Super Blessing and Bariga videos is cra’y but by the grace of God this last quarter is gonna be great

Aside music, whatelse do you do?

I’m an all rounder in the world of entertainment, aside music i’m also a scriptwriter. I do screenplays for movies, i am the content manager for Gbade TV (one of the fastest rising online TVs out there). I’m also into events; I’m a jack of all trades and a master of all

Who do you admire in the music industry?

I’ve got mad love for all the artists in the music industry but there are some artists have got huge respect for, they are my role models and the first is 9ice cos he’s from Bariga too and i heard a lot bout him from people who knew him before the fame and that inspires a lot and his songs always connect. I respect Brymo too’cause his vocals and lyrical dexterity are second to none and I love King Wasiu Ayinde, King Sunny Ade, Lagbaja and Fela i get a lot of inspiration from there songs
