N300bn INEC’s ‘Selection’ Money Should Have Been Used For Infrastructure – Falz
Falz, a popular Nigerian rap artist, has expressed his disappointment in the Nigerian government for using 300 billion naira to conduct the 2023 elections.
Falz believes that the funds could have been better utilized in improving the country’s infrastructure.
The award-winning artist made his thoughts known in a tweet via his official Twitter account.
He opined that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Yakubu Mahmood, conducted a selection process rather than an election. This follows the controversies and irregularities that trailed the elections held in February and March.
In Falz’s opinion, the 300 billion naira used for the elections could have been used to build better infrastructure in Nigeria.
He further emphasized that the country’s infrastructure needs serious attention and that the funds spent on the election would have been better utilized in that direction.
Falz’s tweet reads: “Make we no forget say over 300 BILLION Naira wey fit build beta infrastructure, Mr Yakubu use am conduct Selection.”
