Ovidio Guzman Lopez, son of Joaquin Guzman Loera, the Mexican drug lord popularly known as El Chapo, was captured in Mexico City but freed following pressure on the police from members of the cartel.
The operation resulted in gun battles across the city, with smoke gathering in the air as cartel gunmen patrolled the area in trucks.
