“Not You Too” is the second collaboration between Drake and Chris Brown within a year, the first being their June 2019 single, “No Guidance.” The song’s lyrics address betrayal that the two men have experienced.
In the past, Drake and Brown have had beef, particularly over their mutual friend, Rihanna, who Brown phsyically hurt while the two were dating. During an interview with Rap Radar, Drake spoke on collaborating with the pop-R&B singer in 2020:
