In Contrast to the Ogun State Government that demanded returning students in private schools to pay N25,000 COVID-19 test, the NCDC has reiterated that COVID-19 tests conducted in facilities within its molecular lab network are free of charge.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) noted that if you exhibit any relevant symptom of COVID-19 and want to get tested, the test is free. The disease control agency insisted that COVID-19 tests conducted within its molecular laboratories across the country are free.
The announcement was stated in a tweet via the agency’s official Twitter handle on Sunday, August 2. The NCDC noted that scale-up of testing is key in assessing the nation’s COVID-19 situation and coordinating response across the country.
Currently, there are 61 testing facilities under the control of the NCDC. They are located in 30 states across the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). See NCDC Twitter post:
