Midfielder Beats Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka to Prestigious Award
Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has been named the England Men’s Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season, the English Football Association confirmed on Tuesday. The 22-year-old secured the accolade ahead of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who finished second and third, respectively.
Palmer made his debut for the England national team in November 2023 and quickly became a standout performer. Although he did not start any matches during the Euro 2024 tournament, Palmer scored his first international goal in the 2-1 final loss to Spain and provided the assist for Ollie Watkins’ winner in the semi-final against the Netherlands.
The Chelsea star has also impressed at the club level, netting 22 Premier League goals last season and scoring six goals in seven games in the current campaign, further solidifying his rising status in both club and country.
