Catalonia giants Barcelona are happy to retain the services of Adama Traore who joined the club from the English side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said he and Xavi Hernandez have been impressed by Traore’s on and off the pitch discipline.
The former La Masia academy graduate could not make it into the senior team in 2014 after being promoted to the first team. He then went to Middlesbrough and began his senior adventures. The Barca board are convinced Traore is a long term solution to Barcelona’s inconsistencies at the right-wing.
The 25-year-old could be swapped with fellow academy graduate Fran Trincao who has been on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers since the start of the current campaign.
Traore in the Premier League created many chances from open play but unfortunately failed to have a single assist. Managing one goal from twenty Premier League appearances, Traore’s fortune changed at Camp Nou where he has featured ten times for the Blaugrana and has raked in four assists but is yet to score a Barcelona goal.
Traore moving to Barcelona will also bolster his opportunities on the national team of Spain where he has teammates like Gavi, Pedri, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Eric Garcia and Ansu Fati who also play for Barcelona.
A deal is 99% in place and Barcelona are just waiting for the season to end before they communicate with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
