Nigerian singers, Burna Boy and Tems, have made their debut at the Met Gala, one of the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion events.
The Grammy-award-winning Afrobeats stars stunned the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday night.
The Met Gala, formerly known as the Costume Institute Gala, is an annual fundraising event held for the benefit of the Museum of Arts. It is considered fashion’s big night out and is only open to top power players across all industries.
This year’s Met Gala theme was “In honor of Karl,” which aimed to celebrate the late Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld. As expected, top celebrities graced the event, strutting the red carpet in their endearing looks. From Rihanna and her lover ASAP Rocky, to Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Campbell, Cardi B, and more, everyone brought their A-game to the event.
Burna Boy and Tems both looked spectacular on the red carpet. Burna Boy wore a matching black and blue slightly checkered outfit and a generous cape-like extension of the same material flowing behind him.
Meanwhile, Tems wore a Custom Rober Wun dress, a black corset-like top, a flowing regal white bottom, and elbow-length gloves.
Tems was styled by Dunsun Wright, and unlike her Oscar outfit, she didn’t block anyone’s view. It was a night to remember for the Nigerian duo, who have proven once again that they are among the brightest stars in the music industry. Their appearance at the Met Gala is a testament to their global appeal and growing influence.
