The President, Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at the national assembly to present the 2023 budget.
The president is expected to present the appropriation bill of N19.76 trillion to the joint session of the national assembly at the temporary chamber of the house of representatives.
The national assembly had approved the medium-term expenditure framework (MTEF) and fiscal strategy paper (FSP) — parameters on which the 2023 budget will be framed.
Security was beefed up at the national assembly for the bill presentation.
It was gathered that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Sergeant at Arms were seen manning the entrances to the complex.
It was also reported that only accredited journalists with tags, covering the assembly and essential staff of the national assembly were granted access to the building.
The joint session began at 10 a.m in the temporary chamber of the House of Representatives.
