The Nigerian senate, on Wednesday, has urged the federal government to do all within its powers to resolve all issues relating to ongoing strike action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The motion was moved by Senator Barau Jibrin.
Speaking on the Motion, President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, said
It is important that the Federal Government honours any agreements to find amicable solutions to this.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities had, on Monday, embarked on an indefinite strike based on the failure on the side of the government to honour the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, signed between the union and the federal government in 2017.
