Real Madrid midfielder Isco is now on the list of many clubs around Europe as he has announced he will leave Real Madrid this summer. Real Madrid have had Isco in their ranks for nearly ten years having joined from Malaga, whom he signed for in 2011. Isco started his early youth career in Valencia but was never featured for the senior team.
The Spain international is linked to four clubs as a free agent, two of which are Arsenal and Chelsea. Borussia Dortmund are willing to try their luck with him as well and also in the race is Serie A chiefs Juventus who are also monitoring the creative midfielder.
Arsenal had been chasing Isco since 2020 winter but then recruited Martin Odegaard who then stepped up his game to be the Gunners’ creative maestro. Isco is currently not holding talks with any club at the moment. The star intends to relish his summer holiday and spend time with his family and he has put all contract discussions on hold for now till July.
The Spanish star won 19 trophies at Real Madrid, becoming the inheritor of Mesut Ozil’s number 10 position at the club. He also won five UEFA Champions League titles as well. Isco is a player that is seen to possess a wealth of experience and vast knowledge of the game, especially because he has been an integral part of Real Madrid over the last nine years.
Bids are coming from left, right, and centre but the midfielder remains strong in his decision on waiting till the market officially opens and then he returns from his holidays. Isco has been linked to Chelsea as well and the Blues could do with some more creativity, with most of that burden centred on Mason Mount.
It remains an open race as all four interested clubs are ready to make suitable bids for the Spanish star as soon as the market opens. Isco has not featured so much for his national team for the past year and many attribute this to a lack of game time under boss Carlo Ancelotti who has used Luka Modric more often as well as last summer’s signing Eduardo Camavinga in midfield.
