The Presidential Campaign Committee (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied having a standing agreement with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, according to reports on Wednesday.
The denial was reportedly in response to a meeting the governor had with aggrieved candidates of the PDP for a national assembly, during which he allegedly asked for their support in the March 11 governorship election, promising them that he would defect to the APC in the future.
However, a member of the PCC in the state, Queen Nike Ajagbe, has stated that the campaign team did not endorse the governor and that no agreement was made between them.
Ajagbe noted that the president-elect is a party man who cannot afford to joke with the success of his party across the country, especially in the South West, which is his stronghold.
Ajagbe added that Governor Makinde was only deceiving his members, and urged the people of the state to vote for the APC in the upcoming election. Meanwhile, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, the APC candidate for the governorship election in Oyo state, has condemned Governor Makinde for allegedly spending N500 million on aggrieved PDP candidates and stakeholders, and urged the people of the state to vote for the APC in both the state and federal elections.
