Nicolas Felix, a former presidential aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has spoken up in support of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, becoming the Chief of Staff to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In a recent interview on Arise Television, Felix justified his stance by stating that Gbajabiamila possesses all the necessary qualities to assume the role of Chief of Staff.
Although it has not been officially announced, there were reports a few days ago that the Speaker was in France with the President-elect and had been tipped for the Chief of Staff position. However, Felix emphasized that Gbajabiamila’s close relationship with Tinubu over the years has earned him the trust necessary to be considered for the role.
Felix stated that while there are other capable individuals, a president must have complete trust in the person they select as Chief of Staff. He believes that Gbajabiamila’s 20-year tenure in the House of Representatives, during which he served as minority leader, majority leader, and now the speaker, makes him a great candidate for the position.
He also noted that Asiwaju Tinubu is known for his ability to pick talented individuals who can drive the economy and expects his cabinet to be filled with young men and women with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Felix’s support for Gbajabiamila highlights the importance of trust and experience in selecting key members of a presidential team.
