Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr is reportedly considering Cristiano Ronaldo’s preferred choice for manager as a replacement for the recently dismissed Rudi Garcia.
According to WinWin Sports via AS, the club is targeting former Spanish national team coach Luis Enrique to ensure a reunion between him and Ronaldo.
Enrique, who left his position with the Spanish national team following the World Cup in Qatar, has been actively searching for a new job. He is also a potential candidate for the open managerial position at Chelsea after the departure of Graham Potter, with the Blues expressing strong interest.
During his time at Manchester United, Ronaldo was reportedly eager to work with Enrique, but the club never pursued the Spanish coach. Al Nassr recently appointed Croatian Dinko Jelicic, former manager of their U-19 team, as a replacement for Garcia.
Jelicic’s debut resulted in a loss to Al Hilal, putting Al Nassr’s chances of claiming the league title in jeopardy. The club’s decision to pursue Enrique indicates their commitment to strengthening their roster and improving their performance in the league.
