Singer condemns brutal killing, calls for an end to violence against women
Popular Afrobeats artist Ayra Starr has expressed outrage over the horrific murder of Idowu Christianah, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Christianah was allegedly killed by her friend, Ayomide Adeleye, who has been identified as a suspected serial killer.
Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) page, Ayra Starr condemned the violent act and urged authorities to ensure swift justice for Christianah. The singer stressed the importance of protecting women from violence, stating, “Stop killing us! Stop raping us! Women deserve better #JusticeForChristianah.”
Christianah’s tragic death has sparked widespread attention after reports revealed that Adeleye, a close friend of the victim, abducted, murdered, and buried her on his property. Disturbingly, Adeleye has also been linked to the deaths of his ex-girlfriend and his sister in separate incidents dating back to 2018 and 2020.
