World’s fastest woman, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica now holds the rank of the fastest woman in the world.

Fraser-Pryce achieved the feat after she ran the world 100 meters title in 10.71 seconds at the 2019 World Championships in Doha on Sunday.

She raced her way into the semi-finals with a time of 10.87 seconds and got the 10.71 seconds record in the final to clinch her fourth world title.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was born on 27 December 1986. She is a Jamaican track and field sprinter, born in Kingston, Jamaican.

Fraser-Pryce became famous in 2008 when at 21 years old, she became the first Caribbean woman to win two consecutive 100m gold medals at the Olympics. After winning bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics, she became the first woman in history to win 100m medals at three consecutive Olympic Games.

She married Jason Pryce in January 2011. They have a child, a son named Zyon.
