Filming for the upcoming reboot of Mortal Kombat has officially commenced.
Video gamers will remember the classic video game with memorable characters like Liu Kang, Jax, Sonya Blade, Shao Khan, and Sub-Zero.
Greg Russo, who is credited with doing the writing, confirmed that shooting for the film is currently underway in Australia.

A first Mortal Kombat movie was released in 1995 but it wasn’t well-received and its sequel also failed to make any impact. Now, producer James Wan (director of Aquaman) is giving the reboot a push.
A reboot means that the filmmakers will ignore the events of the previous movies and start afresh with different actors playing the same characters, and maybe a few changes but the same central plot.
With Simon McQuoid filling the director’s shoes, the movie boasts names like Ludi Lin (who is playing Liu Kang) and Joe Taslim (Sub-Zero).
The movie has a release date of March 2021. That means that it is still going to be a while before we get to see it but it is hoped that we will be getting bits and pieces of information regarding the project.
