Major General Adeyinka Adebayo dies at 89. Robert Adeyinka Adebayo was the former governor of the now defunct Western State of Nigeria, 1966 – 1971
He was one of the founders/Vice Chairman of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) (1979 -1983).
His eldest son Otunba Niyi Adebayo was a governor of Ekiti State from 1999 to 2003 under the banner of Alliance for Democracy (AD).
He died this morning at the age of 89.
