#RevolutionNow: How Security Operatives Dispersed Protesters, Journalist In Lagos

Security operatives were swift in swooping down on protesters of the ‘Revolution Now’ movement yesterday in Lagos.

The march, which saw some hundreds of persons take to the streets, was thwarted by security operatives who were strategically positioned.

Some of the protesters were bundled into the Lagos State Task Force van. A few of them struggled with the policemen, proclaiming the violation of their rights as citizens.

Of particular interest is the case of a journalist, who though identified by his colleagues, failed to produce any identification and was subsequently arrested.

In reaction to the sequence of events, the Socio-Economic Right and Accountability Project (SERAP) has advocated for the release of the protesters, threatening international legal action if they were left in police custody.
