Davido seems to have broken silence on the Osun state election which saw his uncle, Ademola Adeleke defeated.
Davido played a strong part in his uncle’s governorship campaign, but all labour went in vain as main opposition party candidate, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won.
‘God knows best ! Best believe he will come thru soon,’ the singer said with a Nigerian flag emoji on Twitter.
INEC declared APC’s Oyetola as the winner of the Osun governorship election after he gathered a total of 255,505 votes from the supplementary election in seven polling units across four local governments, while PDP’s Ademola Adeleke garnered a total of 255,023 votes to come second.
Although, at the first election which held last Saturday, Davido’s uncle Adeleke scored the highest number of votes, defeating Oyetola with 353 votes but INEC declared the election inconclusive and ordered a rerun because the number of cancelled votes in the seven polling units was far higher than the margin by which Adeleke defeated Oyetola. And after the supplementary votes on Thursday, Oyetola surpassed Adeleke with a total margin of 482 votes and thus, Oyetola was announced as the winner..
