A former Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Matters and Social Events to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Waripamo-owei Dudafa, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dudafa, who previously served in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, made the announcement in a statement released on Saturday in Yenagoa.
In his resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Southern Opokuma/Ayibabiri Ward 8, Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Dudafa said his decision followed “a period of deep reflection and consultation” with political associates, family, and supporters.
“It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party effective immediately,” he wrote.
“The unresolved disputes, particularly at the national level, have significantly impeded our ability to move forward. Rather, they create an environment of conflict that is no longer conducive to advancing our shared values.”
Dudafa expressed appreciation for the relationships he built during his time with the PDP, but noted that he could no longer continue in a party plagued by leadership wrangling.
He has now pledged allegiance to the All Progressives Congress, citing its platform as one offering “renewed hope, unity, and a stronger foundation” to tackle the challenges facing Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large.
“After careful reflection and consideration, I have decided to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). I look forward to working alongside new colleagues who share this vision.”
