Ferrera, Tamblyn, and Bledel defend Lively as she takes on “It Ends With Us” director.
Blake Lively’s former co-stars and close friends, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel, have publicly voiced their support for her amid an ongoing lawsuit involving allegations against “It Ends With Us” director Justin Baldoni.
The trio, who starred alongside Lively in the beloved Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants film series, issued a joint statement on Instagram, standing firmly by her side.
“Throughout the filming of It Ends With Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set,” they wrote. “We are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice.”
They also condemned what they described as the exploitation of domestic violence survivors’ stories to undermine Lively’s claims, calling it “astounding hypocrisy.”
The actresses concluded their statement with praise for Lively’s bravery, writing, “We are struck by the reality that even if a woman is as strong, celebrated, and resourced as our friend Blake, she can face forceful retaliation for daring to ask for a safe working environment.”
The lawsuit, first reported by TMZ, alleges that Baldoni conducted a smear campaign against Lively after she accused him of sexual harassment during the filming of It Ends With Us. Lively’s claims include being subjected to an unsafe workplace environment.
In response, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, dismissed the allegations, calling them “false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious.” He described Lively’s lawsuit as an attempt to “fix her negative reputation.”
