“I Didn’t Sleep for a Week” – Seun Kuti Humorously Reflects on Wedding Snub
Afrobeat star Seun Kuti recently shared a lighthearted yet humorous take on being left off the guest list for Davido’s upcoming wedding to Chioma, scheduled for June 25, 2024. Speaking during an episode of Curiosity Made Me Ask with Bae U Barbie, Kuti playfully expressed his disappointment over not receiving an invitation to the highly anticipated event.
The singer recounted how the exclusion bothered him, especially given his long-standing connection with Davido. Reflecting on the past, Kuti recalled how Davido and his entourage used to frequent the famous African Shrine, often enjoying drinks without paying.
“Davido would come to the African Shrine, he’d drink for free with 100 guys, without paying gate fee, but when it was time for his wedding, I didn’t get IV. I was pained, I didn’t sleep for one week,” Kuti jokingly said.
