The ‘Peru’ Singer Pays Tribute to Wande Coal’s Influence on His Journey
Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has expressed deep admiration for veteran artist Wande Coal, crediting him for having a significant influence on his music career. Fireboy, known for hits like ‘Peru’, described his first encounter with Wande Coal as a dream come true, adding that he feels like a child whenever he is around the legendary singer.
Speaking on the podcast ‘Is This Seat Taken,’ Fireboy said, “It was a dream at first meeting Wande Coal. I become a child when he is around. He is a legend. So that [meeting him] was a blessing and a surreal moment.”
Fireboy also highlighted how Wande Coal inspired him to pursue a career in music, paying tribute to the veteran artist on his latest album ‘Adedomala’, with a track titled ‘Wande’s Song’ in honor of Coal’s impact on his journey.
