Socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has moved his business operations from the Southeast to Lagos due to escalating security concerns in the region.

In a recent interview with BBC Igbo, the well-known barman shared that the increasing fear of kidnapping and violence has deterred customers who once frequented the Southeast. This fear has driven many to avoid the region entirely.

Okechukwu expressed his dismay at the prevalent hunger and envy among South Easterners, which he said has led community members to provide information to criminals. This has resulted in the wealthy being targeted and ultimately driven away.

He emphasized that the move to Lagos was driven by the need for a safer and more secure environment for his business operations.

“There is widespread hunger in the South-East. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information,” Okechukwu stated. “Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That’s why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business.”
