In a bid to boost the morale of Nigerian female athletes, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, is currently playing host to the members of the Nigerian female football team, the Super Falcons, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This meeting comes after the Super Falcons faced a heart-wrenching exit from the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is jointly being hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Super Falcons, known for their remarkable achievements in the world of women’s football, experienced a bitter defeat as they were eliminated from the tournament through a penalty shootout against the English team.
The closely contested match took place on Monday, August 7, leaving the nation in a state of both disappointment and pride for the team’s valiant efforts on the global stage.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, renowned for her commitment to championing women’s causes, demonstrated her unwavering support for Nigerian female athletes by organizing this gathering at the Presidential Villa.
This event follows a similar meeting held last week with the victorious Nigerian female basketball team, D’Tigresses, who had triumphed in their own international campaign.
