Nollywood actress, Esther Nwachukwu, has voiced her skepticism about the overwhelming attention and accolades given to Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci.
Hilda Baci had recently achieved the remarkable feat of breaking the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Marathon by an individual.
Since accomplishing this extraordinary milestone, prominent figures such as President Muhammadu Buhari, President-elect Bola Tinubu, and various other esteemed Nigerians have been effusively praising Hilda Baci for her remarkable achievement.
However, Esther Nwachukwu, in a video message shared on her social media page, expressed her disagreement and called on Nigerians to refrain from excessive adulation of the Akwa Ibom-born chef.
In the video, Nwachukwu showcased her own kitchen setup and shared her thoughts, saying, “So guys, no be only Hilda sabi cook. You guys are just hailing Hilda. What did she even do? What did Hilda Baci do that you guys are hailing her like na only she sabi cook in this world?
The actress went on to assert that there are numerous talented individuals in Nigeria who possess exceptional culinary skills, surpassing those of Hilda Baci.
Nwachukwu confidently proclaimed, “Do you know that we have people in this country that know how to cook more [than Hilda]? We can stand for 100 hours sef and we will cook non-stop. And that’s me. Me I can stand for millions of hours and I will cook non-stop.”
Esther Nwachukwu’s comments have sparked a lively debate among Nigerians, with some supporting her opinion, while others continue to applaud Hilda Baci for her groundbreaking achievement.
