The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the results of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The examination was conducted from April 25 to May 1, and this year’s UTME is to run until May 3.
According to JAMB, a total of 1,595,779 candidates registered to take the examination in 708 CBT centers across 105 examination towns in the country. Candidates whose exams were rescheduled will take the examination on May 6.
In a statement released by JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs, Fabian Benjamin, candidates who wrote their exam within the dates in focus can now proceed to check their results. To check their results, candidates should send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they used for registration.
Benjamin further stated that the released results exclude those candidates who were rescheduled to take their examination on May 6, those absent, those under investigation, as well as those visually impaired candidates, which are undergoing processing.
“Also to be noted is the fact that the released results, when checked by candidates, would return the status of the candidates. Therefore, only candidates who are not under any of these categories would have a returned result,” Benjamin said.
The results have been long-awaited by candidates who sat for the exam, as JAMB had earlier stated that the results would be released within 24 hours of the examination. However, this was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, according to JAMB.
Candidates are advised to check their results and print their scorecards for admission purposes.
