The Southampton board considers Marsch as someone with positive energy that can be injected into the group, and his recent Premier League experience is an advantage. Marsch was also instrumental in Leeds United avoiding relegation last season.
However, Marsch faced criticism from some Leeds fans, who believed he was not the right fit for the team. Marsch won only 11 of his 37 games as Leeds manager, with two wins in the last 17 matches. Leeds United owners believed that they had to make a change to avoid relegation to the Championship, which would have been disastrous for the club after investing a lot of money in their squad.
