The President, Mohammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, made a stunning revelation, in Yobe State.
Buhari revealed that he had grown up as an orphan and had no knowledge of his biological father.
The President made this stunning revelation while speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally at August 27 Stadium in Damaturu, Yobe State.
President Buhari emphasized the importance of education, encouraging the APC supporters to send their children to school and stressing that the only thing that can’t be taken away is the knowledge they acquire.
He spoke about his own experience, sharing that he spent nine years in a boarding school and that it was his education that helped him get enlisted in the Nigerian Army.
He said: “Make sure you send your children to school and make them understand that whatever you have in this world can be taken away from you except the knowledge you have in your head.
“I was an orphan; I did not know my father. I spent nine years in a boarding school and because of [my] education, I was enlisted into the Nigerian Army.
“I want you to strengthen your faith, and try your best to uphold the children and family God has entrusted to you. Do not betray that trust.”
The President also urged the crowd to vote for APC’s flagbearer, Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, to help maintain progress in the country’s security, economy and education sectors.
